  • Genting Singapore fell as much as 4% to over a four-month low after it reported quarterly earnings that were slightly below expectations.
  • Singapore January CPI up 5.5%, fastest pace in two years, fuelling expectations that the MAS could act to dampen further price increases this year.

  1. U.S. equities declined after the S&P/Case-Shiller index of home values in 20 cities fell 2.4% in December from the same month in 2009, the biggest 12-month decrease in a year.

Corporate Announcements:

  1. Genting reported FY10 net profit of $37.7mn compared to a $277.6 million loss last year.
  2. Cosco reported a 126% year-on-year increase in FY10 net profit to $248.8 million.
  3. SGX and Nasdaq OMX Group will offer a suite of tools and solutions to enhance corporate activities for listed companies in Asia.
